Glug-Glug Giving Day - 16 December
Bring The Good Vibes
#Fill Up #Dress Up #Give a Glug Glug Hug!
Glug-Glug Giving Day, on 16 December, is a day dedicated to spreading community love and bringing the good summer vibes to our Barefoot Capital, Kenton on Sea.
It is also an opportunity to support community sports development and the Ubuntu Cup - both part the Kariega Foundations Youth Development Programme.
Kariega Foundation, Kenton Garage and Volo invite you to join the celebration in three simple ways.
- Fill Up – Fuel the love at Kenton Garage with all profits donated to the Kariega Foundation Youth Development Sports Programme.
- Dress Up – Bring the love to the Volo Beach Bar Good Vibrations Party. Learn about our local Ubuntu Cup and sporting talent with an opportunity to donate to the Kariega Foundation Youth Development Sports Programme.
- Give a Glug-Glug Hug – Show the love and simply hug friend! Did you know that a hug is the best way to fill someone’s love tank, regulate stress and BRING THE GOOD VIBRATIONS!
All funds raised on Glug-Glug Giving Day support Community Youth Sport Development.

Kariega Foundation Sport Programme
The Kariega Foundation Sport Programme forms a core pillar of the Youth Development initiative, using sport as a platform to nurture physical health, personal growth, and community unity. Through soccer, netball, rugby, cricket, and tennis, over 400 youth from rural Eastern Cape communities engage in structured training three times per week.
Coaches are trained in the CoolPlay Way, integrating Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) into sports to build confidence, teamwork, discipline, and leadership. The programme promotes holistic development rather than competition alone, fostering resilience and character.
The Sport Programme creates safe, positive spaces for youth while providing pathways into education, conservation, hospitality, and tourism careers, advancing the Foundation’s philosophy of Conservation through Community.
Ubuntu Cup League
The Ubuntu Cup is the competitive extension of the Kariega Foundation Sport Programme, embodying the spirit of ubuntu—“I am because we are.” It offers structured soccer and netball leagues for over 400 youth, providing access to organised sport, proper coaching, and opportunities for personal and athletic growth.
Centred on sportsmanship and values-based participation, the league builds unity, respect, and character within local communities. Its success is reflected in milestones such as the selection of players to regional and international tournaments.
The Ubuntu League not only nurtures sporting talent but also strengthens social cohesion, pride, and aspiration among the youth—demonstrating the transformative power of sport in community development.

- Eleven boys from our Ubuntu League were selected and played in the Dana Cup Youth Tournament in Denmark (July 2025).
